The above rates are for genealogy and family history research services as detailed below:-

Please note:  I may in future alter my British Pounds rate depending upon market forces and my circumstances, but I will always complete an existing project on the same rate.  The US Dollar rate is inclusive of my costs of exchanging US currency cheques and money orders into British Pounds via a UK bank.  Should exchange rates vary I reserve the right to change the US Dollar conversion rate with changes taking effect for work carried out from that date forward. 

Time - I charge by the hour for my time whether researching on-line and locating and ordering certificates, or at e.g records offices, or out and about searching local e.g. records, taking photographs etc.  Also, for travelling and for report desk-based work including report writing, chart or database work.

Expenses - Records, Certificates, and the like are charged at cost.  (I require payment in advance for the cost of ordering General Register Office certificates (£7.00) and copies of Wills (£5.00) before proceeding.  If paying in US Dollars, the charge for expenses will be made at the ratio of the USD to GBP detailed above).

Disbursements - Travel via public transport at cost, by car at 40p /mile. (If paying in US Dollars, the charge for disbursements will be made at the ratio of the USD to GBP detailed above).
